In 2017 I began offering this amazing procedure to my patients. Initially I was quite suspicious of the claims of ThermiVa®. Changes that occur in the vagina can be subtle and gradual for many women. With age, childbirth and the hormonal changes associated with aging, feminine health can lead to dissatisfaction with sexual function or the appearance resulting in a loss of satisfaction or confidence. At LiveAgelessly, as a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist I have worked with women as we deal with these personal issues. What causes changes in the vagina that can lead to dysfunction?

What Does ThermiVa® Do?
‍

ThermiVa® uses a nonsurgical energy called radiofrequency which is noninvasive and has no downtime. ThermiVa® will stimulate collagen production in the vagina and vulvar tissue. Collagen production will lead to regeneration of skin which develops laxity with aging.

How Often is ThermiVa® performed?

This amazing noninvasive procedure is done every 4-6 weeks apart for a series of 3 treatments. Thereafter it can be performed safely about every 6-12 months.

Who is ThermiVa® for?

Women who have vaginal dryness during intercourse may get benefit after the procedure with improved wetness, however it is not considered a treatment for severe vaginal dryness, as there are other options that often do not require hormones replacement. It is safe and does not require hormone therapy, which can be contraindicated for women with hormonal cancers such as breast cancer. Some women may have enhanced orgasmic function after ThermiVa®, however this may be more likely when ThermiVa® is combined with the O-Shot.

Many women are candidates for ThermiVa®, regardless of if she has had cesarean or vaginal births or no children. Vaginal rejuvenation can reinvigorate a long term relationship or boost the confidence of a woman who is starting all over again in a new relationship. Vulvar laxity and sagging that occur with normal aging can create physical appearance issues for some women. Thermiva® is an awesome procedure that produces incredible results to help tighten and lift the vulvar tissue. ThermiVa® may help women experiencing mild stress incontinence (leakage of urine with coughing, sneezing, exercising and/or laughing).

Lastly, for women who are noticing sensitivity changes inside the vagina, they may return to once again enjoying more sensitivity within the vagina, thus making sexual intercourse more fulfilling. ThermiVa® can also improve lubrication from the direct thermal effect of the treatment, but also because of improved sensitivity within the vaginal walls. Whether you have no children, one child or seven, you can get the sensitivity and tightness back if you lost it or it is decreased. Men have Viagra and now we have ThermiVa®.
