Hormonal imbalances and or decline can occur at just about any age in women from the teen years to menopause and often are misdiagnosed by many clinicians. The symptoms can be a few or for some multiple and clinicians may fail to recognize that the symptoms are not neurological (depression and or anxiety) but hormonal.
Could it be your hormones?
Women may present with lack of interest in sexual desire, hot flashes, heavy or irregular menses, mood changes of depression irritability and or anxiety, insomnia, poor stress management, loss of sex drive, brain fog, inability to focus or concentrate, weight gain and or unexplained fatigue.
For some women menopause can be the storm before the calm, because everything seems to be falling apart. Other women notice symptoms as early as their twenties and often diagnoses like Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or a Thyroid Disorder is delayed because not all women fit into the same box of symptoms, as the symptoms can be gradual.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is a more natural way for women and men to achieve hormonal balance using hormones that are an identical match to what the body used to or should be producing. They often are plant-based compounds formulated in a laboratory to be identical to hormones that the body naturally makes or made. BHRT is an alternative to synthetic hormones and often have less side effects and therefore health risks as compared to synthetic pharmaceutical hormone replacement therapy. Many women and men choose BHRT as an alternative to synthetic hormones.
Some of the benefits of BHRT include:
- Improved sex drive and orgasmic function
- Restoration and balance of hormone levels
- Improved sleep
- Weight loss
- Improved energy
- Improved cognition
- Less joint pains
- Less or no brain fog
- Resolution of vaginal dryness
- Decreased night sweats
- Decreased hot flashes.
- Muscle strength improvement with exercise
